About the Instructor
Hello, my name is Robin Burroughs. I am the owner and Program Director at Foundation Learning Math and Reading. I have provided afterschool math and reading in Snellville since 2010. For part of the 14 years, I was a franchise owner of one of the popular afterschool programs. However, I quickly realized that operating within a franchise limited me in what and how I could assist students. Making changes to address the needs of a student was near impossible, as I had to follow the "one size fits all" model. I desperately wanted to provide a better service, but the only way to do that was to go independent, which is what I did. Operating as an independent center has allowed the center to provide math and reading curriculum that is more in alignment with school curriculum. This alignment allows students to better transfer what they are learning at Foundation Learning to what they are learning in school. We use a combination of paper to pencil and online tools to give students the opportunity to learn in different ways. Being independent also allows us to adjust each student's level of independent study ratio that is unique to them.  I am very invested in the success of our students. Not only do I work in Snellville, but I have lived in Snellville for over 20 years. I strongly believe the academic success of our children will lead to the success of our schools; which leads to the success of our community. My goal is to give each student who attends the center a strong foundation and the confidence to not only to succeed in school, but to excel in life. I am very involved with all the students, and I personally lesson plan for each.  Prior to providing afterschool math and reading, I was a Technical/Business Consultant, for a major consulting firm. I have B.S. in Information Systems. I am married and have one wonderful son.
foundationLEARNING is an after-school math, reading, writing, and STEM program that provides remedial and enrichment tutoring to pre-K though high school students.
At foundationLEARNING, an emphasis is placed on producing confident, disciplined, and self-reliant students while mastering core math, reading, and language arts concepts. Based on the results of a pre-test, students receive individualized lesson planning to ensure mastery of concepts and one-on-one instruction when needed.
foundationLEARNING is independently owned (not a franchise); therefore, we have the ability to be more in alignment with what your child is being taught in our local schools. Also, we use the same assessment tools that are used in our local schools, so you can compare apples to apples regarding your child's progress.
